Actor-turned Director/producer, Desmond Elliot is releasing his long-awaited movie, 'In The Cupboard' in cinemas, nationwide as from the 17^th of August 2012! The movie which was successfully premiered in several cities is the U.S last year is finally set for release in Nigeria.

The former Chelsea footballer signed with Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua FC last month. He arrived in the country today July 14th. The photo on the left is the footballer with the club president at a press conference in Shanghai today. Photo on the right is the footballer with former team mate, Nicholas Anelka, who also now plays with the Chinese club.

Arik Air flight bound for Abuja has near disaster in bad weather

Arik flight w3232 from Enugu to Abuja scheduled to depart Enugu at about 10:00am was delayed until 11:40am due to reports of approaching bad weather in Abuja.

According to an eyewitness, in a rush to get to Abuja before the start of the rains the pilot ignored all warnings and took the aircraft and passengers through an extremely turbulent flight.

Sylvester Stallone's 36 year old son found dead

Sylvester Stallone's eldest son, 36-year-old son Sage Stallone was found dead in his Hollywood apartment yesterday Friday July 13th. A rep of the LAPD said that he likely died of an overdose of pills, and that there is no suspicion of foul play or criminal activity.

Sage starred alongside his father in 1990's "Rocky V" when he was 14 years old. (Photo above). May his soul rest in peace...amen.

Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler leave American Idol

Steven Tyler announced yesterday Thursday, July 12, 2012 that he will not be returning as a judge on American Idol."

Jennifer Lopez has announced that she's also leaving singing competition series. Her representative, Mark Young, said today Friday July 13th that Lopez is ending her time on the show.

That means the show's judging panel is down to just one person, Randy Jackson. I think they should replace JLo with Jennifer Hudson and Steven with Jason Mraz! :-)

I've been with my boyfriend for 5 years.The beginning of our relationship was great, perfect, we both love sex sometimes we have 2 or 3 times in a night until l started having some weird changes in my private part, increase in vaginal discharges and pain during sexual intercourse. l went to the hospital ,took some test and resort came out that i have Chlamdia (sexually transmitted disease). The honest truth is that l never had sex in 13 years. Deputy Governor and Shehu of Borno escape bomb attack

A suicide bomber blew himself up near the Maiduguri Central Mosque in the capital city of Borno State, killing himself and at least five others.

It was gathered that among the dignitaries that were observing Friday prayers at the mosque were Deputy Governor Zannah Mustaphar and the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Kyari. Both men were evacuated alive after the attack. It is not yet clear if any was injured.

Missing NTA presenter

Alhaji Razaq Gawat is a popular presenter at NTA and the CEO of Gawat Communications. He handles an Islamic TV progamme during the Ramadan period. He left home on Tuesday July 10th and hasn't been seen since. The last they heard from him was when he called his wife around 5pm that Tuesday to tell her he was heading to Ikeja for a meeting.

His car was later found at Apongbon end of Eko Bridge, Lagos Island that same night. The matter has been reported at the Adeniji Adele Police Division.

Dana Air Crash: Accident Investigation Bureau submit preliminary report

The Accident Investigation Bureau has submitted a preliminary report on the crash of Dana Air’s MD83 (5N-RAM) in Lagos on June 3, 2012. The report determines the main facts about flight 992. Read it below..

On 3rd June 2012 about 1545 hours[1], 5N-RAM, a Boeing MD-83, a domestic scheduled commercial flight, operated by Dana Airlines Limited as flight 992 (DAN 992), crashed into a densely populated area during a forced landing following a total loss of power in both engines while on approach to Muhammed Murtala Airport (LOS), Lagos, Nigeria. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time and the airplane was on an instrument flight plan. All of the 153 persons aboard the airplane, including the 6 crew members were fatally injured. There were 10 confirmed ground fatalities. The airplane was destroyed. There was post impact fire. The flight originated at Abuja (ABV) and the destination was LOS.

Former Wall Street banker Michael Marin was facing 7 to 21 years in prison after a jury on Thursday June 28th convicted him of deliberately burning down his $3.5 million Phoenix mansion after it failed to sell at a charity auction.

After being convicted of Arson, the 53 year old millionaire collapsed in court and died. Shocking video from inside the courtroom has now emerged which showed Marin putting something in his mouth immediately after the guilty verdict was read, he then fell to the floor a few minutes later in convulsions. Marin was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators have now revealed that Marin killed himself by ingesting a poison sodium cyanide pill and it was all caught on tape. Marin also sent a delayed e-mail to his son before the verdict was read, talking about locations of wills and belongings should the courtroom outcome prove unfavorable. Over 90 people die scooping fuel as tanker explodes in Rivers State

At least 90 people including women and children were burnt to death early today Thursday July 12th while scooping fuel from a fallen tanker at Okobe in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State. The fuel tanker crashed into some vehicles and fell, spilling its content but didn't immediately burst into flames. Unfortunately it exploded when residents of the area went to the scene to scoop fuel from the tanker.

Rivers State police spokesman Ben Ugwuegbulam explained:

Early this morning a tanker loaded with petrol fell in Okogbe and people trooped to the scene obviously to scoop the spilled fuel and suddenly there was fire resulting in casualties

A team of police officers, soldiers and emergency workers were dispatched to the scene, where burnt bodies were removed.
